| 内容記述 | This article discussed the significance of practicing the "space" as liberal arts education at university. "The space can reach an intellectual domain at a level of philosophical and ethical deliberation from the dimensions of scientific and technological recognition," so said Professor Terasaki, who is a leading researcher in the research field of university education. This article specifically, pursued why he could say so. My approach was to consider how specifically the space could reach a level of philosophical and ethical deliberation based on the viewpoint of space science and space technology. Based on this consideration, I actually conducted a class for university students on the subject matter of the space in order to analyze what they have learned from the space. The results of the analysis demonstrated the point addressed by Professor Terasaki. In addition, my analysis actually drew a new point that learning the space, which is unclear and uncertain, leads to facing how to cope with unclear and uncertain things that are required for living in a fast-changing and fluctuating society, how to deal with questions without correct answers, and how to make decisions. New learning, to learn how to shift our viewpoints toward problem solution, was derived by this analysis. In other words, the significance of the space as liberal arts at university is not to merely understand specialized knowledge about the space. Rather this significance should be found in the point of cultivating the ability to live in a society through learning about the space, without just remaining as a contribution to the level of philosophical and ethical deliberation. | |||||||||
