The thermal conductivity of powder materials, such as regolith and dust layer, is important properties for understand the thermal evolutions and conditions of solid bodies. We measured the effective thermal conductivity of glass beads of several sizes from -25 to 50 degC under vacuum conditions. The experimental results indicated that both solid and radiative conductivity increase with increasing the particle size, which is not consistent with a previous study. Considering the mechanism of these trends will have important meaning. |
