The calibration for images acquired by High Definition Television System (HDTV) onboard Lunar Explorer Kaguya (SELENE) was examined by using ground test data, onboard calibration images, and lunar calibration site (Apollo 16 landing site) images. The obtained method is applied to analysis of a glow observed before sunrise. The result shows that the brightness of the glow is consistent with the estimate of F-corona brightness in the polar direction. |
