| 内容記述 | Energetic electrons found in the tail of the magnetosphere are able to excite X-rays on the lunar surface, when they hit the moon. The flux of such electrons with energies of several KeV is observed as high as 10^8cm^<-2>sec^<-1>, and the bremsstrahlung X-rays of energy k in ⊿k excited thereby is as strong as 4 X10^3 (⊿k/K) cmcm^<-2>sec^<-1> at the lunar surface. The intensity of K X-rays, for example, of silicon is about 5KeV//⊿k times the bremsstrahlung intensity at the same energy. It is, therefore, suggested that the observation of such lunar X-rays provides information on the electrons in the magnetosphere as well as on the chemical composition of the moon. | |||||||||
