The launcher building became operational since the summer of 1981. It was introduced primarily to guarantee the launch operation of sounding rockets under the unfavorable conditions. Prior to launch, a part of the roof slides to make a 4.6m×5.8m window. And the rocket, carried in on the mobile launcher, ascends through it. It covers launch azimuth and elevation angles of 130∿160 deg. and 70∿85 deg., respectively. Its design philosophy, layout and operation along with the measurement results of the lift-off environment are given in this report. |
