It is also observed that the same reference area of concave arc can produce instabilities in shock wave, which can lead to starting problem of tunnel. Hence, the Schlieren images were captured using highspeed camera with 5000 fps. The different patterns of shock instabilities have been observed in case of concave shape cylindrical arc. Among the different instability patterns, particle induced instability pattern has been studied by numerical simulation by using static particle located upstream of concave geometry in hypersonic flow
