Spacecraft are usually forced by space environments: e.g., solar radiation, high energy particles, debris, and atmospheric molecules. Air drag effects are not negligible for spsaacecraft in low altitude orbit. In order to estimate the neutral atmospheric density, we have constructed an atmosphere-ionosphere coupled model (GAIA). We introduce the global distribution of the neutral atmospheric density obtained by the GAIA. Our results indicate that spatio-temporal variations of the neutral density is significant in the upper atmosphere. In this study, we focus on longitudinal and local time variabilities of the neutral density in the thermosphere caused by non-migrating diurnal tides |
