For this purpose, a new method was invented to determine the average temperature gradient in the zone experimentally. In addition, temperature profiles in dummy samples were measured by using thermocouples and these results were utilized for developing numerical analyses of temperature distribution in the sample device. As a result, understanding of the TLZ growth mechanism has been deepened including constitutional supercooling during the crystal growth.
