The study presents a thermal history of the moon and extends to discuss the effects of physical properties and phenomena such as emissivity, geothermal energy, topography and so forth. Numerical results have revealed the emission and reflection characteristics of solar radiation and the effect of geothermal energy on surface temperature. Subsequently, the transient behavior of radiation heating and cooling is elucidated for understanding on the penetration of heat into slab with finite length and the equilibrium surface temperature for infinitesimal amount of incident radiation. These basic data might be applied for clarifying the structures of craters, particularly, on the craters located in the polar region. |
