| 内容記述 | The dynamics of slender cylinders in axial flow subject to conventional boundary conditions is recalled first. This is followed by brief reviews and discussion of new developments in (i) the dynamics of unconventionally supported cylinders, e.g. cylinders free at the upstream end and supported at the downstream one, (ii) the dynamics of cylinders subject to both internal and external flow for applications in oil and gas drilling and production, as well as hydrocarbon storage in salt-mined caverns, and (iii) the peculiar dynamics of very long cylinders, such as acoustic streamers used in underwater oil and gas exploration. | |||||||
