Noise control technologies including active noise control have been carried out during the last decades in National Aerospace Laboratory. However, the research and development was limited to fundamental experiments to confirm the noise control concepts or theories whereas the requirement of practicing those technologies is increasing more than ever. To advance the practical aspects, the noise evaluation technology as well should be enforced since appropriate application of noise control to aircraft engines needs sufficient information on noise sources. Noise evaluation technology consisting of source localization and modal decomposition helps to obtain the acoustic characteristics of the radiated noise. This report summarizes the research and development on noise control conducted until now and then introduces a research project for the noise evaluation technology that has started this year. |
