航空宇宙技術研究所では、ドルニエDo228-202型機を母機として、インフライト・シミュレーション機能を持つ多目的実証実験機MuPAL-αを開発した。MuPAL-αには、可変安定応答機能を実現するためにフライ・バイ・ワイヤ操縦装置や直接揚力制御装置を始めとする実験装置が装備され、様々な実験目的に合わせて飛行制御則やパイロットヘの飛行情報表示などを変更することができる。このような特徴を有する実験用航空機を安全かつできる限り通常の航空機と同様に運用するために、実験システム使用時も含めた耐空証明を取得した。本資料では、MuPAL-αが有する飛行形態と飛行モードを説明した後、実験用航空機としての汎用性と安全性を両立させるために工夫した点を中心に、各飛行形態に対する耐空性の証明について述べる。 |

The National Aerospace Laboratory of Japan (NAL) has modified a Dornier Do228-202 into an in-flight simulator, dubbed the MuPAL-alpha (Multi-Purpose Aviation Laboratory). The MuPAL-alpha is equipped with a Fly-By-Wire control system and a Direct Lift Control system, allowing variable stability and response capability. In the MuPAL-alpha, the flight control law and the format of the flight guidance display can be changed for each experiment task. To operate an experimental airplane with such features safely and in as similar manner as possible to ordinary aircraft, the NAL has obtained airworthiness certification for the MuPAL-alpha, including for the operation of experimental systems. This report first of all introduces the flight configurations and fight modes of the MuPAL-alpha, then discusses the policies and verification methods used to obtain the airworthiness certification, explaining the ideas that allow flexibility as an experimental airplane consistent with flight safety. |
