次世代型無人宇宙実験システム(USERS)宇宙機は、2002年9月10日、H-2Aロケット3号機で種子島宇宙センタより打上げられ、2003年5月30日、帰還回収運用を行い、実験サンプルの回収に成功した。これで、USERSのリカバリビークル(REV)は国内初の軌道上から生還したカプセルとなった。本稿では、USERS/REMのシーケンスイベントの概要を示し、再突入経路計画とフライト結果に対する評価をまとめる。 |

The Unmanned Space Experiment Recovery System (USERS) was launched on September 10th 2002 from Tanegashima Space Center with the H-2A launch vehicle. Main objective of USERS is to process super conductive material in micro gravity environment and to recover the product after the experiment. On May 30th 2003, the re-entry and recovery operations were successfully conducted, bringing experiment samples and beneficial information back to Earth. USERS became the first national project to succeed in recovery from orbit. This paper first describes the outline of USERS/REM and sequential events of the atmospheric re-entry until splash down to the ocean. Followed by is presentation on the re-entry trajectory plan and quick review of the flight results are discussed. |
