1983年より,M-3SII 型ロケット搭載のために,続けてはM-V型ロケット搭載用に,ロケット用テレビジョン(TV)システムを開発してきた。目的はロケットの分離や制御に関わる運動を高速度で撮像することである。搭載部分は CCD カメラ,ビデオスイッチ,マイクロフォン,送信機,送信アンテナから,地上部分は受信アンテナ,受信機,データ処理系からなる。1984年1月,ロケット ST-735-1号機において最初の性能確認を行った。M-3SII 型ロケットでは初号機から7号機までに搭載,その間,2画面合成や映像のカラー化,通信距離の拡大など,機能の向上を図った。M-V 大型ロケットでは1および3号機に搭載,新開発の大型ロケットの飛翔を映像により情報伝達するという大きな役目を果たした。 |

This paper describes the rocket-borne television (TV) system that has been developed for monitoring the operations of M-3SII and M-V rockets of ISAS. The system consists of the on-board elements including CCD cameras, a video switch, a Ku-or X-band transmitter, a microphone and a power supply, and the ground elements including a Ku-or X-band receiving antenna, a receiver, a demodulator, a video recorder and video monitors. The system has been operated in ten rocket flights(one ST-735 flight, seven M-3SII ones and two M-V ones) since the start of the development in 1983,each time having been improved. The images have been utilized for monitoring the rocket operations, such as the separation of strap-on boosters, ignition of the second stage motor and jettison of the nose fairing, and for studying the dynamical motion of the mechanical elements of the rockets. |
